SAANICH, BC—The Victoria Labour Council, representing union members in the public and private sector throughout Greater Victoria, has endorsed Nathalie Chambers for election to Saanich Council in the upcoming September 23 by-election.
“I’m heartened to receive the support of the labour movement for my candidacy for public office,” says Chambers, a Saanich farmer and well-known social justice and environmental advocate. “This endorsement is a powerful demonstration of unity, with workers, farmers and progressive voters of all stripes coming together for equality, solidarity and fairness for all.”
Chambers is focusing her campaign on affordable housing, support for seniors and youth, environmental stewardship, and strong, cost-effective public services. Together, we’ll elect a strong, progressive ally on Saanich Council on Sept. 23.
